7 TH ROYAL-THOMIAN ENCOUNTER 2006

03 RD MARCH 2006

The Royal-Thomian Joint committee unanimously agreed to stage this year’s encounter back in its original splendor since the last year’s encounter had to be conducted under very low profile as a mark of respect to 2004 Tsunami victims of our mother land. The committee organized a `papare band’ to be flown from Sri Lanka & local `Live’ band to play at the grounds. The traditional `raffle’ was restored & players were given newly designed jerseys to remember 7 Th encounter. The veterans’ matches were re-named as Over 40 & under 40.

Heshan De Silva was appointed as the project coordinator from Royal & Lashan Egalahewa from STC. The both committee’s went about their allocated businesses with lot of enthusiasm to bring back the traditional big match atmosphere back at the grounds. The date was set on 03 rd Of March 2006 in customary Exiles RFC grounds.
The event attracted 200-300 people from both the schools & friends to watch & enjoy the evening. Papare played music & teams danced with joy well into late night.

The kids were offered special games exclusively organized by Mrs. Raheeda Mahamoor & certificates & medals were awarded.
