Without doubt, The Royal- Thomian dinner dance has come to stay in the Sri Lankan Community calendar as the `only annual Sri Lankan Old boys’ Dinner dance in the UAE. Together with our traditional rivals, ORUAE handled with resounding success the toughest of all events in terms of the huge workload involved coupled with the need to raise substantial funds to stage two unforgettable dances at the Dubai Renaissance hotel.

This event raises the majority of funds for the ORUAE activities throughout the year. The sponsorship drive which was initiated months before the event, had shown tremendous success, especially last year. Keeping above in mind, we seek the support from our membership to solicit more sponsorship in the future to make the event a continued success & let the Royal flag fly high in the UAE circles.
The joint Royal- Thomian organizing committee had the distinction of bringing Sri Lanka’s premier live bands during the past two years to give the guests a truly Sri Lankan night flavoured with ‘Baila & Non-stop’ music. Needless to say, the feed back received in the aftermath of the events clearly underline the immeasurable enjoyment the event brings to everyone who was privileged to have attended. Our fellow old Royalist - Mr. Radley Stephens was especially flown down from Sr iLanka to compere the event in both the years, and did a fantastic job with his booming voice & witty comments adding spice to this glamorous event.
